Our Mission

Tari Bali Seattle is a community group dedicated to the teaching and performance of traditional Balinese dance in the Seattle area. In Bali, dance is performed as an offering to the gods, a means of communicating with the divine, and a way to invite blessings or dispel negative energies. Beyond its sacred significance, Balinese dance fosters community during ceremonies and celebrations and captivates audiences with its intricate gestures closely tied to the shimmering sounds of gamelan music. Tari Bali Seattle aims to share the rich cultural heritage of Balinese dance, fostering appreciation and understanding of this beautiful art form.
